The Drone Player is a live, continuous ambient synthesiser running entirely in the browser on the Web Audio API. Twenty detuned sine voices across four partials (root, octave, fifth, minor seventh) breathe and drift through slow low-frequency oscillators, blended with a band-filtered noise bed and a procedurally generated convolution reverb. Six macro controls reshape the full texture in real time, presets scene-select between cinematic, industrial and sacred flavours, and the record bar captures what you hear into a downloadable WAV — 4, 8, 16 seconds or manual start/stop.
Tone — Root sets the fundamental pitch across a four-octave C1–B4 range (≈33 Hz low cinematic root up to ≈494 Hz bright tonal drone), Harmonics mixes in octave, fifth and minor-seventh partials for a pure sine at 0 through a rich organ-like stack at 1. Movement — Drift depth-controls the per-voice pitch and amplitude LFOs for chorusing life, Evolution drives very slow filter and harmonic-balance modulation across tens of seconds. Space — Density crossfades detuned voices in and out and mixes the noise bed, Space is the wet convolution-reverb send from dry to a vast tail.
The record bar captures fixed-length 4, 8 or 16 second WAVs of the live output — pick a duration and the recorder starts, runs, and downloads the file automatically.
